Agree. They had the opportunity to buy during the launch. They didn’t. Now they get to pay even less than we all did, and still looking for a better deal?
Yup - i really don’t feel that is right…
Yeah would really love to see a transparency audit - team earnestness ![]()
I love this post!!! Thank you for going off!!!
Am I misinterpreting this or simple english, whales want to bulk buy and don’t want to move the price/market? I guess we have to look at what is the average buy order and when they occur, do they move the market and by how much? If they do, then increasing liquidity would be acceptable, if not, then do we really need to increase liquidity?
Hey thanks for this! I cannot promise a comprehensive Jupiter-style audit for CLOUD in the near future, because I have a lot on my plate at the moment, but this is something that is in my to-do list.
For your questions re allocation, actually the blog posts on tokenomics and genesis mint already answers quite a bit of those questions. But for quick reference
40%, or 400M was allocated to the community through the airdrop (10%), and the rest held in two separate multsigs - 1) Community Cold Storage Multisig, and 2) Community Ops Multisig.
Every CLOUD-X proposal put up is from the community allocation.
Hi Cloudfam, just wanted to clarify on a singular point some folks have been focusing on in the Discord and on the forum.
Several firms have approached us wanting to buy CLOUD, but it’s difficult to buy CLOUD in size onchain without incurring large price impact.
“Several firms” refer to a range of counterparties, from individual investors to liquid funds that have expressed interest in buying CLOUD, but feedback to us an issue which is that large buys of CLOUD onchain incurs large price impact.
I want to clarify, this proposal is not to facilitate or accommodate private investors to buy CLOUD cheap. This is a proposal that expresses a problem that CLOUD buyers have mentioned , and a potential solution . Is this actually a problem?
It looks like there’s two sides to the argument here - deep liquidity going forward is good for potential investors vs just DCA bro, CLOUD is cheap.
Reiterating FP’s point, we’re not experts on this front, so we’re putting it up to the community to help 1) discuss if this is an actual issue, and 2) also if this is the right solution to this problem. I’m sure we actually have a lot of experts here.
A lot of really conducive discussion at the moment. I’m loving it!
I am happy to hear that some kind of transparency audit is in the pipelines
I’m sure you got a lot more on your plate now cuz of Eno lol!
And thank you for replying with the information provided. Info is spread out and I have no idea where to start looking
Keep on cooking my good ser ![]()
So cloud allocated to the community will be used to allow whales to buy cheap? ![]()
No, this is our bad. There should be a better place for the tokenomics. Maybe I’ll write an archived forum post to aggregate all the information:
Yup. The 10M will all be from community allo
So if the math is correct……there is 300M for community……10M is the proposal….
Therefore 3.33% of community allocation is up for this proposal……
Makes it even more of a NO from me unless I truly don’t understand what is going on
which firms want to buy so big amount of $cloud ?
Don’t apologize. We know you are “not well” cuz you’ve been cooking lol! One step at a time. Just glad you’re active on here discussing with the community
Im sure there are experts here, but I feel they would represent a small fraction of the entire community.
I think if a normie read the proposal, it would fly right over their head.
I also remember hearing that Sanctum refused to pay CEXs for listings at TGE
I just feel like its not right for 3.33% of the community’s allocation to be put up just so firms can buy large amounts at this price with less slippage
3.33% tokens from the community pool not going to the community.
Yes and no……its whether or not the community thinks this will be beneficial to us as a community
I’m just scared that because the proposal is quite complicated to understand, some members might just vote yes just because
But we are day 1 of 7 of deliberation and pretty good discussions are happening already
Can youuuuu dig it?
I can dig it
I can really feel this post…
Price impact going upward because a large buyer comes in is… normal and desired. The price impact is… exactly that.
Current proposal will keep the price low and not allow it to go higher again, but won’t do much to avoid it from going down further.
I think a much simpler solution is to LP into a full range AMM. Budget your next year or 2 in USDC, and put the rest in that AMM along with the requirement amount of CLOUD.
The goal for CLOUD is “how do we make the price go up”, not “how can we have more investors in at current price”. Price go up → more investors come in. Even current interested party will want to come in if they think price go up.
Id look at ORE as a good example of liquidity, and they all use full-range.
Another advantage is that it frees the Sanctum team from overthinking it and managing it. It’s also very simple to incentivize and have user LP into it. Complicate it and you’ll have 3-4 people doing it, and 10 people farming it.
Treasury management, every 6-12 months, withdraw the USDC required to continue the project, adapt spending based on that.
The token that needs to be liquid are the LSTs, possibly INF. Not sure if that’s still a battle that ant to be fought, or we let the best LST (jupSOL?) win, which arguably is still a win for Sanctum.
I stopped reading about a third through. Wasn’t the whole point of sanctum lst Program to keep cloud in the hands of the average fella? You’re inviting whales to Actively participate in market manipulation, which to them and the cloud founders stands to be profitable sure. But the price is already so tanked out and where there were once promises of cardSOL and other projects that seems to make practical everyday sense, resides now an uncertain feeling of abandonment and or selling out simply to pad impatient pockets. If I’m entirely off base, I apologize, but it will be interesting to hear the other opinions.
They sold out on the CEX promise near immediately.
