First of all I am really sorry for your situation, I have been in the same place some years ago.
The only way, left this back and keep trying for better days, as you already do.
About the vesting period, I think the current vesting schedule (7 days for leaderboard and 6 months for earnestness) worked pretty good, allow an organic price action.
Your airdropās safety canāt be protect from vesting, your tokens amount is locked in a smart contract, only your eligible wallet can get these tokens. Regaining your wallet control depends on hacking attact, you can nothing to do if your seed phrase leaked.
After all, I totally agree with your security enhancements proposal and recovery options, itās really great idea.

The vesting period is nice. There I canāt say anything.
My idea was if there was possible to secure somehow this vesting period if shit happens like in my situation. It is how it is, I am glad that we at least can dive into this theme deeper.
