This is v1 of this guide. It will be updated to reflect new knowledge and insights on the sanctum governance voting process.
Voting on Sanctum governance proposals is one of the most powerful ways to help shape the future of the ecosystem.
During the 3-day deliberation period, the community is encouraged to read the full proposal and share thoughtful feedback in the official discussion thread on research.sanctum.so. This window is an opportunity to ask questions, offer suggestions, or raise concerns before the proposal goes to a final vote. Constructive input during this time can directly influence the direction of the proposal. The team may revise or clarify the proposal based on community insight. It’s a powerful way to co-create decisions together and make sure the final version truly reflects the will and wisdom of the Cloudfam.
Each vote helps guide Sanctum’s path. From new product features to treasury decisions, your voice counts. So make it heard!
Below is a step-by-step guide to voting.
1. Visit the Governance Portal
Visit the official governance portal of Sanctum: vote.sanctum.so
2. Connect Your Wallet
- Click “Connect Wallet” in the top right corner.
- Use a supported Solana wallet (like Phantom, Backpack, or Solflare).
- Approve the connection in your wallet.
3. Check Eligibility
To vote, you need to hold $sCLOUD (staked $CLOUD) in your connected wallet. Also, the “CLOUD Staking” section will show your total staked $CLOUD. See @eggpanned’s post for more info on staking your $CLOUD.
4. Browse Active Proposals
- Scroll down to the “Proposals” section.
- Observe the 3 columns:
My ASR Vote: This column will say “Met” (on a live or completed vote) if you have used at least $10 to vote ($10 worth of USDC for, or $10 worth of $CLOUD against). You will then be eligible for more ASR.
Outlook: This is a gauge of the live voting (or trading).
Status: This is the status for each proposal.
- Click on a proposal to go to the proposal’s page where you can see further details and vote if it’s live.
5. Cast Your Vote
- Review the proposal.
Choose “Higher”, “Lower”, or “I think the market is correct for now”.
- Remember to vote with at least $10 in value if you want to be eligible for ASR on that vote.
- Approve the transaction in your wallet to lock in your vote.
Note: Voting lasts for 3 days. This may change at the team’s discretion.
My ASR Vote
Active Staking Rewards (ASR), is a system designed to incentivize active participation in Sanctum’s governance. By staking your $CLOUD tokens and actively voting on proposals, you not only contribute to the community’s decision-making but also earn additional rewards. The more $CLOUD you stake and the more proposals you participate in, the higher your ASR, enhancing your voting power and potential rewards. Voting with more than $10 does not give you a larger portion of ASR.
Outlook
Likely to Pass: The proposal appears to have strong support and seems on track to be approved.
Likely to Fail: The proposal is trending toward rejection, with more votes against than for.
Toss Up: The vote could go either way. No clear majority has formed yet.
Status
Time Remaining: The remaining time left to vote will be shown during a live vote (eg. 2D 4H 23M).
Passed: The voting is closed and the proposal has passed.
Failed: The voting is closed and the proposal has failed (or been rejected).
On Hold: For one reason or another, this vote has been put on hold.
Cast Your Vote
Higher: This is the equivalent to accepting the proposal.
Lower: This is the equivalent to rejecting the proposal.
I think the market is correct for now: This is the equivalent to abstaining.
