[Proposal] Yield Profit Visualization

Since I discovered Sanctum, I have been positively impacted by how simple and fast it was to stake SOL on the platform. The yields are very good, and the great variety of LSTs offered blew my mind, not only for their number but also for their diverse characteristics. The presentation of these tokens in Season 1 as pets was incredible; it created a whole new relationship with the tokens in a very playful manner. The way S1’s multipliers worked, along with the quests, also made it even more interesting, helping you get to know each LST/pet better every time the multiplier shifted. I believe this could be expanded in S2 to include even more LSTs and more quests that include them as characters in a storyline.

However, something I always missed about the platform was seeing how much profit we are getting from holding the LSTs, or even visualizing the yield profits increasing in real-time. I think this kind of visualization could be a key difference in understanding the way LSTs function, especially for users who are not very experienced. If, similar to Season 1 where we could see our points go up rapidly, there was a way to see our SOL increasing in real-time, it would be psychologically beneficial. This would help people not only understand but also feel how their funds are growing by the second. So, I think having a clear, real-time display of yield profits would enhance user engagement and satisfaction, making the staking experience even more transparent and rewarding.

I really feel Sanctum focuses on all kinds of users, and the more accessible it is, the better. This would help, in my opinion, for Sanctum to be as widely adopted as possible, blasting through infinity and making its CLOUD rise up to the stratosphere. Cheers!

Strong agree here. It would be really helpful to give people perspective on what they’ve earned!

Yes! Glad to know you agree, zionatlas! I don’t know the technical difficulties it would imply, but I’m starting to see it on some projects, so I think it can be done
In my opinion it would make a whole lot of difference, even for more experienced users, so that you don’t have to note everything down and make calculations in order to know your profits.
A dashboard where you could see only your LSTs and the profit for holding them would be perfect :slightly_smiling_face:

This is community created but you have this dashboard to track Sanctum LSTs APY over time.

StaRKe LSTs Performance Dashboard

The intention for this dashboard was to fill the gap here mentioned and there wil be additional features on next versions.

On the other hand, I agree about this proposal by saying than an official version would be also useful. LSTs performance visualization is important to get trust among the community.

Hey @Rylock, thanks for the link, it’s great! I didn’t know it!
Good to know you also feel this is an important feature.

I feel so much better now having tossed some SOL into RKSOL. This is a great start.

See here also for some thoughts around a dashboard.

Nice suggestion here! I could only imagine being able to have that kind of priceless information. Constantly blown away by what is possible in this Sanctum space! Thanks for sharing your ideas.

Yeah I love this idea, I imagine it would take a lot of back end coding but a nice visualisation on how much SOL you have earned holding your LSTs would be great

a great idea, and the dashboard from @Rylock is brilliant, for me could be integrated into a wider education about LSTs, so many dropped their LSTs back into SOL as soon as Wonderland S1 finished, sure the farmers were always going to, but seemed so many thought that wonderland farming was the only reason to hold a LST

now a dashboard to plug your wallet address into and see your individual APY now that would be a thing ! ))

Yes, that is exactly what I mean! I am part of a community of people that are new to crypto, and Sanctum’s airdrop was recommended there, but nobody really knew anything about it and about LSTs, so they just put their SOL there for the airdrop, but didn’t take the time or had a deeper understanding to figure out what LSTs are. From time to time they always ask me about what to do with “Sanctum’s Coins”, that they want to look for other things to do with their SOL now that the airdrop is over, and I always have to explain to them what LSTs are, how they work, how incredible Sanctum’s work is… and I can see very clearly that no one there understood anything, from the start. And the truth is that I’m not so experienced either, it did take me a little while to understand everything too, haha. And this is why I brought this proposal here, to address the things that I think would’ve helped me a lot in the beginning and that still could help a lot of people that can just drift away for simple lack of understanding. This would be a great way to make them feel this is a good place to be. But as I also said before, I do think it would benefit experienced users as well! It’s a win-win any way you look at it!

And this is a really common situation with ETH chain. Since we have a lot of LST on ETH chain, if these same people don’t know much about Sol LST, they would’nt know them either on other chains (Eth chain and BTC chain soon as well).
It’s a very fundamental knowledge that should be explained to the newcomers.

:open_book:I’m thinking about the pendle documentation: in order to explain in a cheerful way, to give example of interaction with a real situation (token+ lstToken + number of days we keep it + colorful icons and drawing) to show how it works and what happens when you just hold the token in your wallet. For that explanation, I liked the Pendle documentation one, where they explained how PT/YT work, the documentation was very beginner-friendly and the colors/icons/real life examples really helped a lot.

Maybe have the same kind of documentation ? I mean the real one and maybe one beginner-oriented ? The sanctum protocol icon looks already friendly, so having a friendly explanation would suit it in my opinion ! :thought_balloon:

Yes @JaunePomme, this is a common issue across all chains. But I really notice a difference between Sanctum’s LSTs and, for instance, those on ETH. Over there, everything feels so corporate, serious, and “heavy”, not to mention the high gas fees that add to that locked-up feeling. On the other hand, Sanctum is much more inviting, playful, and easy to use. That simplicity and lower cost are huge factors in onboarding beginners. However, a beginner’s guide would definitely help a lot. I believe it should be prominently displayed on the website, especially with crypto on the verge of mass adoption soon. We need to burst our bubbles and be ready to welcome new users in the best possible way!

Can’t we have a infinitie pet representing our yield ? like… the higher % we get, the bigger the pet is ? so i wouldn’t be it about the amount we put in the sanctum, but more about %, how we manage the % to go up and how we see it ! :sun_behind_small_cloud:

To me, beginner-friendly goes with good visuals to help grasp the situation faster and easier!
