[Small Proposal] Ambassadors roles in foreign languages

The idea would be to designate some people who speaks a foreign language and giving them like some flagged :it: :fr: :es: :de: :cn: ambassador roles specifically made so these persons would be in charge of trying to answer all the questions posted in these (unmonitored) international channels as they can.

The point is that even tho it’s unmonitored channels, it feels bad watching people asking questions in their own language because maybe they don’t understand English properly and not managing to find the answer to their questions just because no one answers to them or just do not speak their language. :cloud:

In my case, I would love to have the Japanese :jp: Ambassador role, and take care of all questions in the Japanese channel.

I know some channels aren’t that active but knowing that someone knows their language and may answer their question is really reassuring thing imo and Sanctum community is gradually growing so I thought would be nice to be prepared for the future as well. :partly_sunny:

Let me know what you think.

NB: Of course, you can already help these people (I already started to do it) without a role, but having one in charge would be easier to redirect people directly to them.

If your proposal goes to a vote you have mine. I think its a great idea. I have always been impressed/envious when I met someone that speaks multiple languages. When I was growing up my parents didn’t push it and schools didn’t require it. It wasn’t until I joined the military and stationed in Germany and Italy that I truly appreciated other languages and their cultures. Having someone with a flag/badge and their time zone would definitely help.

This is a good idea. I noticed in the other languages there weren’t any miniclouds and cloudmasters. Not sure if the people in these other chats got earnest rewards for their contributions. I think it would be only fair if we could get a new role to look after specific language chats.

Great idea! Just seeing there is no support for their language may keep some people from joining. Let’s get them on board!

I like this proposal. I think that could be a interesting thing. I already tried to help in S1 to people in Russian and German channels. They are really for now less active. Maybe when S2 starts the channels will also alive :heart_hands: +1 Vote from me buddy.

How would you judge if one is worth being an ambassador?

Speaking a specific language is important, but it must be someone that really cares about the project, understand sanctum’s product, stay inform. It is not a one month mission.

It’s voluntary work so it’s just about givin some ppl already dedicated or willing to, to have more visibility for those in need.

It’s not about being worth, it’s more about “do you want to?”, the role would be given to those who are already helping and just take it off in case they stop their altruism job after a period of time idk like 2 weeks?

I think the requirement for the beginning would be just “who wants it or already doing it?” and then could have more or less ppl doing it for the future (I repeat, it’s unpaid voluntary work)

It’s more about giving a uniform to someone to give him a sense of duty/usefulness.
No need to have a harsh screening process, just being a regular in the regarding channel and that should be it.

I hope I don’t sound stupid saying these things and made myself a bit clearer :partly_sunny:

Don’t you think scammer will see it as an opportunity?

But the point is to help ppl in the different language community.
You may put some “trusted” members at first as ambassador if necessary, but as I said, it’s voluntary work, there is no airdrop for this so there is no “opportunity” in this matter.
This is just a proposal for an act of good faith not a cheap way to get an airdrop or whatsoever :hatched_chick:

Yes I agree. It should be volunteering. But putting truth worthy people is also important.

If one has to step down, he can nominate someone else to take his place.

Yeah or we can just have 2 people for the same channel, but I think we won’t be able to fill all channels lol, we need more numbers !
But it’s just the beginning and a way to start developing and helping imo
