Supercharging the Community

What can we do to supercharge our community?

A few months ago our community was in its infancy. We had just concluded the TGE and everything was new.

Community is the bedrock of Sanctum. Without our users, we have nothing.

I wrote this a few months ago is still relevant:

Some of the best stuff has come out of community just going ahead and doing stuff without getting the go-ahead from the team… I think this is an excellent opportunity to practice community capacity-building:, which I define as the ability for the community to ship stuff separately from the core team (but with one unified goal: grow Sanctum together).

So you guys have our blessing to just do it.

And the community took this and ran with it. We have seen some incredible, amazing work thanks to our community:

I am beyond grateful for everyone who stepped up. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been thinking: what can we do to supercharge this? Our core team is really small, less than 10 people at the moment. But we have many more Sanctum-Aligned community members. My goal is to continue to empower the community, let them do more, so Sanctum can reach more and more and more people without everything hinging on the core team.

Our goals:

  1. Get community together physically and onboard new users to Sanctum. We want to let the world know that crypto can actually improve our daily lives.
  2. Let people know about the earnest people Sanctum has. Attract new earnest people. Fix the reputation of our industry.

I want to suggest two things we can do to help. Please let me know what you think.

Cloud Community Corner – a collection of the Sanctum-aligned

First, let’s create an encyclopedia of Sanctum Aligned people, so that wherever you go, you can see and meet a friendly face.

I would like Sanctum-aligned folks to introduce themselves here. I have created a Cloud Community Corner – Database for people to post and introduce themselves: who they are, how they found crypto/Sanctum, where they’re based, what they like, their socials, etc. We should remember that in crypto we are all people, all with our hopes, dreams, and fears, and we should support each other, PPP.

Sanctum Sanctuaries

Second, I would like us to set up “Sanctum Sanctuaries” around the world. These are places for Sanctum-aligned to gather, connect, and help one another. We are therefore encouraging the community from all over the world to hold community events, whether at restaurants, their offices, or even their homes.

Folks like @Bengshark and @Halfa have already run community events, and I would love for more folks to do so.

In the spirit of letting the community just do it, if you run an event that onboards Sanctum users, just do it – no need to ask for permission. Let us know, we will amplify and happily cover all F&B expenses (within reason-- easy on the caviar). Let us know in advance and we may even drop by

It’s coming to the end of the year but next year I’d love to have a custom Sanctum tent and banner so I can set-up at the farmers markets, block parties, festivals, etc. I live in a very progressive college town, Fayetteville, Arkansas, and we’re one of the few states that have embraced crypto. Our area is one of the most concentrated with Helium network miners, our mayor has tried to get us a city token, and I’ve taught graphic design for NFT art at our massive state of the art library that is the envy of most cities. We had a group called Oz, for the area that did regular weekly meetups at coffee houses, classes to onboard university students into blockchain, and many other things but it’s kind of disbanded. I just messaged the group on Discord to see if anyone is interested in helping set something up.

It’s so awesome how Sanctum empowers the community like this, and it’s truly satisfying to witness the results coming to fruition. The Cloud Community Corner will be a fantastic way for us to get to know each other even better and will be crucial in building a rock-solid community foundation. Everyone’s name and story will be etched into Sanctum’s history, evolving as it grows in size and importance. It marks a pivotal step beyond our “infancy,” setting the stage for everything ahead. Writing my own introduction also helps me reflect and realize how and why I’ve come to be here. Everything has led us to this moment, and now we can figure out, together, where we go from here! The Sanctum Sanctuaries will definitely be another turning point, and I’m ready to start “just doing it” around here, with the help of my fellow countryman Cloud, @Hipnox! I’ll let everyone know as it advances. Cheers!

@fplee This post is very heartfelt and genuine.
From the beginning, the main goal of the Town-hall, was as I stated in the first episode “We want to put a face behind the names in the discord, bring the community together, embrace a PPP mentality. This is our Proof of Humanity”. It is all thanks to your encouragement and trust on us.

Additionally, I love the idea of having a members database “The real Clouds Corner” and get to know each others more. I feel humbled after reading the note you mentioned above. You said “I wrote this a few months ago is still relevant”. I will never forget that was the answer to my comment as I was waiting the “go ahead” to carry on with the town-hall. Honestly, I felt so encouraged and empower to follow my heart.

Thank you for your leadership and clear sense of your vision. We all walk along side the Sanctum team, as a community we will change the negative perception of our ecosystem and help on-board new members to see the real purpose of crypto.

The Community, earnest mentality, and PPP way of life.

In line with Sanctum Sanctuaries is the proposal made by @NYSoul:
[PROPOSAL] Build/Connect Regional IRL chapters to grow and support CLOUD/Crypto together - General - Sanctum Research

Since it’s in a similar regards, I think merging it into Sanctum Sanctuary is great…

Can’t wait for more people to step up in differing regions to set it up!

Sounds like a nursing home., lol.

As you know, I have been pushing Cloud Local Chapters with Jae doing an event in Australia and healthSOL doing one in Indonesia. Just smol so far, but trying to grow interest to seek support and help the local communities.

Would love more support for it or run with Supercharging the Community and Sanctum Sanctuaries.
